Dr. Barnes elected as a member of the ASN Fellows Class of 2012

Stephen Barnes, PhD, Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, Professor of Genetics, Professor of Vision Sciences, Director, Targeted Metabolomics and Proteomics Laboratory (TMPL), Senior Scientist, UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center,  and Director of Pilot Feasibility Study Program and Senior Scientist of Nutrition Obesity Research Center, was elected as a member of the ASN Fellows Class of 2012 by  American Society for Nutrition (ASN).  

To be inducted as a Fellow of the Society is the highest honor ASN bestows. The ASN Fellows program, in existence since 1962, recognizes scientists who have had distinguished careers in the field of nutrition and are sixty-five years or older.

Dr. Barnes will be invited as a guest to attend the Fellows, 50-Year Members & Past Presidents Luncheon which will be held during the ASN Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2012. The luncheon will be held on April 23, 2012 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, San Diego, CA.

Additionally, Dr. Barnes will be invited as a guest to attend the ASN Awards Ceremony on Sunday, April 22, 2012. The ceremony will be preceded by an Awards Sponsors & Winners Meet and Greet event. During the ceremony, Dr. Barnes will be called to the stage and recognized for your career achievements.
