Dr. Julie Locher receives an exciting new grant on the intersection of nutrition and aging from the National Institute on Aging

Julie Locher, PhD, UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) Scientist and Associate Director for Enrichment Programs, has received an Academic Career Leadership Award from the National Institute on Aging. Dr. Locher's new grant, "Translational Nutrition and Aging Research Academic Career Leadership Award", is funded for 5 years.

The overarching goal of this K07 Academic Career Leadership Award is to develop a sustainable Program in Translational Nutrition and Aging based at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and in partnership with organizations and individuals within the state of Alabama who have an interest in collaborating on nutrition and aging research initiatives. The Program in Translational Nutrition and Aging Research is at the intersection of three broad areas of inquiry: 1) aging, 2) nutrition, and 3) health services research.
