Tapan Mehta, a Ph.D. candidate in the Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) and Office of Energetics has been chosen to be on the Eastern North American Region (ENAR) Graduate Student and Recent Graduate Council (GSRGC).
The Regional Advisory Board (RAB) represents the grassroots membership of ENAR. However, ENAR student members cannot be on RAB, and so RAB, and ENAR leadership, is perhaps less aware of their needs. Therefore, RAB wishes to form a Graduate Student and Recent Graduate Council (GSRGC) to help ENAR better address the needs of all students and recent graduates, but especially for students from smaller departments, international students, and minorities. The GSRGC is composed of not more than 10 graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, or recent graduates who are ENAR members and are in academic departments of biostatistics or statistics, government, or private industry.
