Kenneth Kell awarded at the 90th annual meeting of Alabama Academy of Science (AAS)

Tamilane E. Blaudeau, Ph.D. Kenneth Kell received 1st place in the oral presentation competition in the social sciences section at the 90th annual meeting of the Alabama Academy of Science (March, 2013). Kenneth's presentation was entitled "Who you are vs. where you live: socioeconomic status and food choice". His research examined the associations between adherence to dietary patterns and both personal and community level indicators of socioeconomic status within the REGARDS study population. The annual meeting of the Alabama Academy of Science includes colleges from across the state and covers a range of science disciplines.

Kenneth Kell is a Ph.D. student in the department of Nutrition Sciences and is funded through the UAB Pre-Doctoral Training Program in Obesity-Related Research (T32HL105349) of the UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC), from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.
