Two NORC members selected to attend Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Connections Seventh Annual Symposium

Dwight William Lewis, Jr., PhD, MBA  (top, left), and Larrell Wilkinson, PhD, MSPH, CHES  (bottom, left), of UAB’s Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC),  have been selected to attend the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF)  New Connections Seventh Annual Symposium,  to be held June 12-14, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Princeton Hotel, in Princeton, New Jersey.
Dr. Lewis, postdoctoral trainee in the Department of Epidemiology,  and Dr. Wilkinson, assistant professor in the Department of Human Studies,  will participate in the symposium’s aim to “serve as a forum for early and midcareer researchers [from historically under-represented groups] to network, share research ideas and hear from senior researchers and mentors.”
New Connections  is a national program that works to develop and retain a diverse, well-trained leadership and workforce in health and healthcare to meet the needs of all Americans. Created in 2005, New Connections is designed to expand the diversity of perspectives that inform RWJF program strategy and introduce new researchers and scholars to the foundation.
