Daniella received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Florida. She then went on to earn her Masters of Arts in Government from the Interdisciplinary Center Hertzliya in Israel (cum laude honors), while playing professional basketball. In 2012, Daniella started the Nutrition Sciences Ph.D. program at UAB. Her research interests involve diet influence on body composition and the impact on metabolic and physiological processes in African elephants (Loxodonta africana), as well as energetics.
