Starting 2014 off on an enthusiastic and productive note, the Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) [1] recently hosted “New Energetic Ideas for the New Year,” with an impressive number of representatives from various departments participating in the event. As a featured event, David B. Allison, PhD, [2] director of the NORC and Office of Energetics, challenged each participant to propose novel and creative research ideas. Julie Locher, PhD, [3] professor in the Department of Health Care Organization and Policy, [4] announced the awards for faculty and trainees who distinguished themselves in the following categories:
