Research Interests

My area of research focus is on minority health & aging, specifically as it relates to physical activity and obesity. The rates of obesity and obesity-related illnesses in Southeastern minority populations are trending at a faster pace than in other parts of the country. Because obesity disproportionately affects minority populations, exacerbations of existing health disparities will more likely continue into older adulthood. My research is focused on improving the health of this population through disease prevention and health promotion.
